FindBiometrics: [Money20/20] IDEX’s David Orme Talks Biometric Cards

It’s an exciting time for IDEX Biometrics. The fingerprint sensor specialist has been one of the key players pioneering biometric payment card technology, and largescale deployments appear to be imminent, with a major partner, Mastercard, thought to be negotiating with banks about delivering the technology to customers.
Understandably, biometric cards were the main topic of discussion when FindBiometrics President Peter O’Neill caught up with IDEX Sales and Marketing VP David Orme on the show floor at this year’s Money20/20 event in Las Vegas. Explaining that IDEX was here to meet with its partners, as well as card makers and financial services providers, Orme delved into the reasons behind the growing excitement about biometric cards, IDEX’s first big order, the importance of remote enrollment for fingerprint-scanning cards, and what’s next for IDEX.
