PlanetBiometrics: Hengbao and IDEX partner on biometric cards in Asia

Hengbao, a Chinese card company, announced a partnership with IDEX Biometrics to introduce contact based biometric smart cards across the Asian market.
Hengbao supports cards for multiple payment network specifications, including Mastercard, China Union Pay, VISA, and JCB, and the companies have future plans to trial dual-interface cards.
According to market research company ABI Research, the total volume of shipped smart card for payments in 2017 was 1.3 billion cards. The annual volume is expected to increase to 1.8 billion cards by 2022.
