IDEX enters into cooperation agreement with Identita
IDEX ASA has entered into a cooperation agreement with Identita Technologies Inc. for a biometric powered card using SmartFinger Film.
Oslo, Norway, 30 March 2011: IDEX ASA has entered into a cooperation agreement with Identita Technologies Inc. (“Identita”).
Identita creates identity management solutions involving hardware tokens and client server application software. The company has research and development facilities in Canada and its international offices in Barbados.
“We are thrilled to work with Identita, which is a recognized company in the industry, and we consider that this agreement confirms the potential of SmartFinger Film to become the preferred swipe fingerprint sensor for powered card integration” says Ralph W. Bernstein, CEO at IDEX.
The agreement defines specific cooperation milestones for the qualification of the IDEX SmartFinger® Film fingerprint sensor and biometric software algorithms for use in a biometric powered card. The qualification of the SmartFinger Film sensor is expected in the second half of 2011.
After a successful qualification, it is the intent of Identita and IDEX to enter into a commercial agreement under which IDEX will supply SmartFinger Film sensor technology to Identita.
